The Coastal Bend Surfrider Foundation will be having a meeting on Monday, July 31st at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Carlos Truan NRC building located at Texas A&M University. The meeting will also include a FREE showing of the cool surf movie, “Glass Love” by Australian Andrew Kidman. This is not your run of the mill “5 pros on a boat trip” kind of movie.
The meeting will be held in room 1003 of the Carlos Truan building. Click here for a map. Also pick up your copy of the CD “Don’t Mess with Texas Beaches” by local musicians Dicky Neely and Fred Jarmon for just 10 bucks.

An email acquittance recently sent me a link to his website. He also turns out to be a local shaper. After reviewing his work I would call him an artist.  Jarrod’s boards are truly a work of beauty. If I am ever lucky enough to acquire an Oldham board I will have to contemplate if the board will ever touch the water…it may end up gracing my office wall.
Â
With today’s technology and cheaper China-made boards the “old-school” shapers are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Jarrod’s work is a breath of fresh air. Â

If you like Jack Johnson, you will love Donavon Franenreiter’s new album ‘Move By Yourself’. This album took me by surprise, as it has a strong Lenny Kravitz – like funk to it. You can’t help but to sway your hips to “That’s Too Bad” or “Girl Like You” or relax to “Beautiful Day” and “All Around Us” . “The Way It Is” is my favorite song on the album, it has a great 70s disco feel to it.
Â
This is a gem of an ablum that you will play over and over. Very few ablums do I play straight through…bottom line…buy it.Â

Â
Check out the round 3 highlights from the Billibong 2006 Tahiti Pro. The barrels will make you crazy during the Texas summer flats and the sound track is sure to please. The perfect day…indeed.
