If you missed last night’s much anticipated 4 X 100 freestyle relay you need to immediately dig up some video footage and prepare for a treat. The French men were the favorites and added fuel to the fire by throwing in some French-styled trash talk. Bernard, the French anchor and world record holder, declared that his team would “smash” the Americans in the finals.
American swimmer, Lezak, provided one of the best swimming performances in history. I won’t go into details as you need to see the race for yourself. Team USA’s stellar performance caused me to jump up and hoot with excitement; it caused the French to eat a big piece of humble pie. That’s what the Olympics are all about!
