- A new surfboard – guaranteed to put a Teahupoo-sized smile on the receiver’s face. Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like a brand spanking new stick laying under the Christmas tree.
Beware, as the surfer in your family is very likely to disappear for the rest of Christmas day (depending on marine conditions).
Where to buy? Local Surf Shop
Note - Want a surfboard that has “insane tail lift” (think air) and offers incredible speed? Try out the Rocket Propelled Quad by Mike Doyle Custom Surfboards!
- Wetsuit - Its winter and the cold water makes your nips perk up like a pair of diamonds. Nothing says love like the gift of warmth.
Warning – the new neoprene smell is very likely to give this gift away before its unwrapped.
Where to buy? Your local surf shop (Wind & Wave Water Sports, Benjamin’s, etc.)
- Surf Trip – Perhaps this one should be bumped to the top of the list? Send your surfer on an all-inclusive surf vacation to Mexico, Costa Rica, or any one of the Pacific Islands and they will certainly bring you back a tee-shirt. It will cost you some serious dough, but plane tickets are a whole lot easier to wrap than a new board!
Where to buy? online or your local travel agent
- NoHo Surf Trainer – I love this product, and so will that special surfer in your life. No swell – no sweat! Strap the NoHo pods to your surfboard, pull the coffee table out of the way, and cross step and nose ride like the great Joel Tudor – fits short boards as well.

- The Tool – This bad boy makes for the perfect stocking stuffer. Use it to change any fin system on the market: allen wrench, standard and philips screwdrivers, a built in wax comb and “leash hook” make this the “Swiss Army Knife” of the surfing world. At $14.99 “The Tool” is a real bargain.

- The Multi Rack – Made by the same people that created “The Tool.” I replaced the PVC homemade rack with this one. “The Multi Rack” is made from natural hard wood and can hold up to three boards. The rack is easy to assemble and is attractive enough for in-house mounting. At $59.99 the Multi Rack is a steal, and right now you get a free tool with every order!

- Chammyz “Surf Bomber” – Right around the middle of September I throw my “Surf Bomber” in the back of my car. Whenever I get out of the water I throw my Chammyz on and it instantly absorbs any remaining water on my skin and keeps me “cozy warm.” The specialized fabric softens as you wash it, so the Chammyz gets better with age. (My kids love their Chammyz as well)

- “Just Add Water” surfing DVD featuring Clay Marzo – Quiksilver recently released “Just Add Water.” I was able to preview the video at the premiere event at the Executive Surf Club. The surfing is unreal, the video footage superb, and Clay’s story is compelling. Another great stocking stuffer idea.

- The Ryde Tee Shirt - The Ryde offers soft cotton and unique and original designs. I love their shirts! The other day I was repairing some drywall caused by a leaking roof (man, did it hurt spending nearly ten G’s on a new roof!) and ended up having “roof cooties” fall all over me. To make a long story shirt, I think I ruined my favorite “Siesta shirt.” A new one is on my Christmas list.
Where to buy? Surfing Apparel :: Surf Clothing The Ryde
- Surfrider Holiday Gift Membership – For only $44.00 you get to feel good about helping the environment and you get a slick looking organic Limited edition Surfrider Foundation t-shirt or tote bag (plus a tax deduction).
