Kelly Slater has made it to the next round of the Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles, San Clemente. While many of the top pros were eliminated in the first 3 rounds, Kelly was able to capitalize in the relatively small surf by finding a long right-hander.
If Slater can win this event, he will still have a chance at a 10th World Championship (although the chances are slime).
Kelly’s long time friend and iconic free surfer, Rob Machado, defeated fourth ranked Taj Burrow by scoring a couple of 5-point waves. Rob will be surfing against Dane Reynolds (No.20).
